RV10 - HAWK V4 E330J/G-T
When building your RV10, weight, safety, availability of economically viable fuel, range, and available power are always considerations at the forefront of any builder's mind. Regardless of how much time you have spent around fellow aviators, it's unlikely that you have heard any complaints about having too much power. In fact, quite the opposite, you've likely heard the saying, "you can never have too much horsepower." (There is no requirement to use all available horsepower, unnecessarily or at low attitudes. However, horsepower availability is certainly beneficial for high density altitude take-offs, the ability to safely fly over weather or high terrains, or simply higher cruise speeds at altitude without increased fuel burn.)
Well, what would you say to an EXTRA 90hp and a weight saving of more than 100lbs over the IO-540 D4A5. If you plan to install air-con, plush interior, and all the creature comforts, then these benefits will get your RV10 performance numbers soaring as well as your flight altitude!

RV10 Engine Mount Design
AC Company has developed a high tech cradle and engine mount for ease of installation into your RV10 project.
Available as a package through our Build Center ASAP in Bakersfield, CA (L45). This mount has been designed specifically for the Vans RV10 to keep all of the critical dimensions intact.
Fuel Type & Consumption
This platform of engines has been designed from the ground up to be a true multi-fuel unit.
Designed to run on industry standard Jet fuel (Diesel (EN 590), Jet A, Jet A-1, JP-5, DEF STAN 91-86, JP-8, DEF STAN 91-91, JP-8+100, Chinese Jet Fuel No 3)
Will also run and perform on all gasolines where necessary, RON 80,87,91,95 including 100LL along with all bio derivatives.
Hydrogen gas.
BSFC, 0.398 lb/hp-h (231g/kW-h) Pratt & Whitney PT-6 Turboprop by comparison is 0.507 lb/hp-h (308 g/kW-h) (on approach and idle 0.825 lb/hp-h (502 g/kW-h))
HAWK Footprint
As you can see, the HAWK V4 engine takes up a much smaller footprint than the factory Lycoming IO-540 opposite. Providing the pilot and builder with increased power to weight ratio and the ability to burn JET A fuels.
Some modifications may be necessary to the top cowl and firewall forward. Our Build Center can assist and advise on those changes and collaborate with you throughout your build process.
